Results Summary

Here is a summary of how the competitive Padres teams have fared this season with the final standings at the end of the regular season.  The results are considerably improved on last season’s.  Well done to all concerned!

 BNR Under 12

Still have game cards missing from Rapids but pretty confident that:

Padres Davis finish as Minor Premiers and will play Rapids/Narangba at Padres on Saturday.

Padres Hoppy finished second and will play Padres Jully, also at Padres on Saturday.

GBL Under 12 Division 1

Padres White (Dan Wilson) finish as Minor Premiers and will play Padres Red (Stuart MacDonald) (4th). This is an awesome result as this is an all Brisbane competition of 11 teams.  Such a shame that they have to face off in the semi which will be at Padres this Saturday.

GBL Under 14 Div 1 (Keith Land)

Minor Premiers!  Play Pine Hills Lightning at Padres on Saturday.

GBL Under 14 Div 2 North

Padres Red (Ian Walker/Tony Quinlan) finished 2nd in North side comp and will play Musketeers at Ipswich on Saturday in a cross-Brisbane semi.

Padres White (Brendan Vassallo) finished 3rd out of the 9 teams on the Northside. Because of the cross-Brisbane format, will not play semis. Only out of the finals by 1 run against their own clubmates last weekend!  Really unlucky not to be in finals.

Under 16 Division 1 (Glen Brockie)

Out of finals contention this season but had a number of close results.

Under 16 Div 2 (Cate Lessmann and Brayden Missen)

Finished 3rd out of 12.  Will play Wests at Wests on Saturday.

Under 20 Div 1 (Tom West)

Finished just one place out of finals.

Masters North (Steve Rowe)

Minor Premiers.  Will play Redlands Rays at home next Monday.

Pacific C North

Padres Red (Glen Rowe) finished 2nd out of 10. Will play Southside Minor Premiers, Indians, at Runcorn on Sunday.

Padres Grey (Rory McCracken) finished 3rd. Because of cross-Brisbane semis, will not contest finals.

Padres White (Leon Hughes) finished out of contention for finals but improved on last year.

Major C (Joel Townsley)

Finished 2nd with more wins than the leaders, Windsor. Will play Windsor at Windsor with winner going straight to GF. Loser will play winner of Surfers v Redsox for a place in the GF on 20/03/16 at Windsor.

Major B (Rob Bugeja)

Finished 2nd behind Surfers. Will play Surfers at Surfers with winner going straight to GF at Windsor on 20/03/16. Loser will play winner of Redlands v Windsor for a place in GF.

Major A (Phil Overlack)

Finished out of contention for finals.

Out of 18 competitive teams, 12 will play in the post-season.  This is a great result!

Are you a coach, scorer, general volunteer, specific role, grounds crew helper, assistant coach? etc.,

Please come along on Saturday or Sunday the 10th and 11th of September to the clubhouse to sign your agreement and bring along your blue card or fill out an application.

We are hosting pathways for Little League from 8am to 3.30pm.

We would love to ensure that the season starts as smoothly as possible and to ensure that this occurs, we need our volunteers to be registered on the system as a volunteer to be covered by insurance. We also want to ensure that the paperwork behind your role be complete, so we can support you and value the time that you are giving each and every week in the volunteer capacity for the Padres community.

Rebates are provided for the role that you as parents/carers, players and friends undertake- so jump on board now.

It will only take 5 minutes of your time and will ensure that processes are followed and you can ask any questions.

Scorers and Umpires are always needed- so just drop us a line.

If you need to ask any questions or follow up- please just ask

See you on the weekend.

P.s. We are still seeking volunteers for the Under 18 State Titles we are hosting- 24th to 27th of September and the Bunnings BBQ October 23rd.

Are you the next host family for an import player?

At Padres, we welcome players from across the globe and this season we have 2 imports that would like to play for us.

We as a community, would like to provide a base for the players within a members home, to immerse in the Australian culture and life with your family.

The commitment is for approximately 6 months and requires a room and some support in terms of getting to the field, meals etc.,

The benefits are endless, but weekly board of approximately $50 is paid to you and fees rebates are provided in full for each import.

One of our imports in heading over from the states and arriving next Friday and he is lucky enough to be bringing his wife with him. Therefore, Mikey and Lea would love to be welcomed into your home and this duo will attract 2 full fee rebates. So if you have 2 children playing- 2 fee payments will be rebated, alongside the weekly board. Both are going to be working whilst here and are very keen to help your family and become a valuable and active member of your household.

We have had many imports in the past and the benefit they bring to the community is immeasurable. Mikey is going to coach a junior team or minor grade- so he will be giving back to the club as soon as he arrives.

We do have another import player coming over in the upcoming weeks also- so please identify your interest to Brendan Vassallo (Vice-President) through or phone 0425 220 244.
