Members- we wish to advise you of some changes to the mnagement committee, which are effective immediately.
Unfortunately being a volunteer, especially at a club of our size, puts great pressure on both your professional and private lives. To that end, it brings news that Donna Hobbs, Glen Brockie and Brendan Vassallo are changing the direction of their support of Padres. These three members have worked diligently for the club not only this season, but over a number of years and we know that their efforts have been immense and we sincerely thank them on behalf of all of you.
With these vacancies, I have put my hand up to absorb the role of President and Vice President, until the time of the upcoming Annual General Meeting to be held in May. At the same time, we have had a review of our current operating resources and with this in mind are creating a High Performance Panel, which will involve a number of our coaches; ensuring the vital area of player development is maintained. The role of Baseball Operations Manager will be managed by Katrina and Carolan for the remainder of the season, with support from other members. Brendan will continue coaching his Under 14 side.
Since becoming aware that Glen was moving away from coaching one of the Under 16 teams, we formulated a plan for this and advised parents yesterday. After announcing the coaching team to these families, we have been overwhelmed by the offers of support from within the club and the positivity exuded by club members to the committee. Thank you for accepting that change is inevitable, even if challenging. The challenges ahead will be many, but we will tackle this with excitement, passion and love of the game. As a club, we will strive to move forward and continue to be the benchmark for baseball in Queensland.
If anyone has any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the committee. You can reach me on email at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0407 189 688.
In the meantime...... let’s play ball!!!
